The National City Depot is a historic part of San Diego's history. Being the oldest railroad related structure left in San Diego, it is the only museum with original life-sized cars. Working with The Depot's president Dave Slater, my partner and I developed a new branding system that would attract more visitors and highlight the educational aspects of the museum while maintaining the authenticity of The Depot. Our logo is based off of the interactive railway pump cart, and uses purple and brown to appeal to visitors of all ages, and not just train enthusiast. To emphasize the rustic historic feeling of The Depot that is still intact, we added rough textures and bright playful colors to compliment the logo itself. A new logo with a stationery set, monthly newsletter, various ephemera, signage, and a branding book are all included in The Depot's rebranding.
