Millions of plastic water bottles are overwhelming our oceans and their toxicity is affecting the marine life. With the objective to bring awareness to the cause and to promote the use of reusable water bottles, I transformed a typical plastic bottle and integrated floating plankton, which are fundamental to the marine life food chain, to represent that they should not be trapped inside a plastic world. I used the spine of the plankton and the indents on the edge of the bottle to unify them together. For my color scheme I wanted to use a bright blue to reference the ocean in a positive way, and purple and black to refer to the toxicity of the plastic. I also designed a poster that would advertise the cause, a reusable water bottle and bag, along with a beach clean up volunteer pass and informational brochure.
